WASIS is a really great program and it's been exciting to see it take off. Are there plans to expand the workshops or hold additional ones in Australian or NZ? I think the annual workshop is being held right now in Boulder.

A half-day Weather and Society Integrated Studies (WAS*IS AUS) session was held at the Australasian Hazard Management Workshops yesterday.

Australasian Hazard Management Workshops 09
The 2009 Australasian Hazard Management Workshops are being held in Melbourne this week (5-7th August). Attendance has been good, with a variety of academics and practitioners coming together to discuss disaster related issues. A key theme of the workshops has been the Black Saturday bushfires which occurred in Australia in February this year, with many of the worshops referring to the implications and lessons from that disaster.
